Project Overview:

A comprehensive groundworks and infrastructure project for a respected regional housebuilder. Kingsheath Construction was appointed by Abbey New Homes to deliver the full groundworks package for Darland View, a new development of 44 homes in Hempstead, Kent. The project began with a critical remediation phase to safely remove asbestos from the site, followed by a full scope of groundworks to prepare for the new homes.

Delivering Specialist Remediation and Groundworks

Our team was responsible for the entire groundworks phase, starting with the safe and compliant removal of asbestos. The project showcased our ability to manage complex site challenges, including remediation and varied foundation requirements, providing a clean and robust platform for development.

Key services delivered on this groundworks project included:

  • Asbestos Removal: Safe and compliant removal of asbestos-contaminated materials from the site, ensuring the land was safe for residential development and all works were completed to regulatory standards.
  • Mixed Foundation Solutions: Construction of substructures for all 44 units, utilising a combination of traditional trench-fill and specialist piled foundations to suit the specific ground conditions.
  • Roads and Sewers: Installation of all private and adoptable roads and drainage networks, constructed to the high standards required for local authority adoption.
  • Attenuation and External Works: Implementation of an effective surface water attenuation system and completion of all hard and soft landscaping, including driveways, footpaths, and gardens.

This project highlights our capability as a versatile groundworks contractor, equipped to handle environmental remediation and deliver complex residential schemes for leading housebuilders in Kent.
