What are Section 278 works?
A Section 278 agreement (under the Highways Act 1980) allows a developer to hire an approved contractor to carry out works on the existing public highway. This is often required for things like forming a new bellmouth entrance to a development, installing a roundabout, or creating new crossings.
How do you manage disruption to the public?
We carefully plan all works to minimise disruption. This includes phasing the works, using effective traffic management, and often scheduling the most disruptive activities during off-peak hours or overnight where permitted. Clear signage and communication are key parts of our strategy.
How do you ensure your work will be adopted by the local authority?
