Project Overview:

A large-scale brownfield regeneration project for a major national housebuilder. Kingsheath Construction was appointed by Crest Nicholson Eastern to deliver the complete enabling and groundworks package for Lyewood Farm, a new development of 85 homes in Kent. The project involved a significant initial phase of demolition and site remediation, including specialist asbestos removal, before the main groundworks could commence.

From Brownfield Remediation to Finished Plots

Our team was responsible for the entire enabling and groundworks package, transforming a former farm site into a development-ready platform. The project required careful management of hazardous materials and extensive site preparation, showcasing our integrated capabilities in demolition, remediation, and civil engineering.

Key services delivered on this project included:

  • Demolition and Site Clearance: Safe demolition of existing agricultural buildings and clearance of the site to prepare for new construction.
  • Remediation and Asbestos Removal: A comprehensive remediation strategy, including the specialist removal and disposal of asbestos-containing materials, ensuring the site was safe for residential use.
  • Roads and Sewers: Installation of all private and adoptable roads and drainage networks to serve the 85 new homes, built to the standards required for local authority adoption.
  • Substructures and External Works: Construction of foundations for all plots, implementation of a surface water attenuation system, and completion of all hard landscaping for the new properties.

This project highlights our expertise in managing complex brownfield sites, providing a single-source solution from demolition and remediation through to final groundworks for leading UK developers.
