Project Overview:

A highly technical groundworks and infrastructure project delivered for a major residential scheme. Kingsheath Construction secured the contract to deliver the complete groundworks package for a new 50-unit development situated on Kelveden Road in Tiptree. The project required a full scope of civil engineering services, ranging from complex piling and deep earthworks to highway connections and sustainable drainage installations. We created the essential foundations and infrastructure to support this new community.

Delivering Complex Groundworks and Infrastructure

Our team took full responsibility for executing the enabling works, substructures, and infrastructure phases for this significant residential development. The extensive scope of work demonstrates our capacity to manage complex engineering challenges, heavy earthworks, and strict highway compliance standards from the ground up.

Key services delivered on this groundworks project included:

  • Earthworks and Soil Management: Execution of a bulk reduced level dig alongside associated transportation. We managed all heap and soil logistics to ensure the site remained safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant.
  • Specialist Substructures and Piling: Construction of traditional trench-fill foundations alongside Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) pile foundations for specific plots. To support this, we installed a heavy-duty working platform and provided continuous attendance for the piling rig throughout the operation.
  • Section 278 (S278) Highway Works: Implementation of vital off-site roadworks under a Section 278 agreement, facilitating safe and compliant access to the new development in line with local highway authority specifications.
  • Roads and Footpaths: Construction of all adoptable roads and footpaths to exacting local authority standards for future adoption, alongside the precise installation of private road networks within the estate.
  • Drainage and S50 Connections: Delivery of a complete water management strategy. This included installing all mains foul and storm drainage, executing Section 50 (S50) outfall connections for foul and surface water, and constructing a large-scale attenuation basin to control surface water runoff safely.
